Renovation of Teen Talwar

Renovation work underway on Teen Talwar in Clifton.


Its strange how they have civility to renovate / restore the monuments but not roads and footpaths!

Case in point: If you ever have a chance to go to this road, just make a right turn from teen talwar and go straight pass the signal into the road going towards Kalapul..Man its a mess!

Mobile Tower = Rent = Easy Money

Thats a mobile tower on top of an apartment building in Clifton. From what I have heard cellular companies pay anything from 25000-35000 as rent, if you give them space at a good location to install their mobile tower. These towers are in different sizes and the biggest one requires a separate control room sort of a thing. Some people have told me they got free SIMs or free electricity too!!

Tuk Tuk in Karachi?

Don't be surprised. Its not the "tuk tuk" imported from Thailand (Rickshaw is called Tuk Tuk in Thailand). Rather its a CNG rickshaw made by our very own local company Super Asia which is renowned for making washing machines. This one I spotted near Gulf Mall, Clifton. I must say its looks a bit attractive than the previous CNG rickshaw...;)..

Windshield? In car? Nahhh...

I just saw this "rehriwala" selling kharbooza near my home. Look how he has made a creative use of the windshield of a car!

About the Title of my blog!

The title of my blog is a part of the famous poet's Ghalib's couplet, which goes on like this:

Baazeecha-e-Atfal Duniya Mere Aagay
Hota Hai Shab-o-Roz Tamasha Mere Aagay

It means:

This world is a childrens' playground to me,
A new show happens before me everday.

The purpose of this blog is just the same, i observe things and events around me and then convey my experiences and ideas through this blog. And therefore i chose it as the title of my blog.

Thand Progarm!!!

It just came to my attention yesterday, that the jingle in the Sprite's Ad "Thand Program" where they show Aminah Haq is a direct lift from Savage Garden's song named Animal Song.
